Description

“Not interested in what, Richie?” he asked quietly. “The Homecoming dance, or girls?”
The atmosphere shifted dramatically in that moment. Richie’s gaze shot up, his hurt expression unreadable, his eyes searing. “Neither, I guess,” he replied simply. He gathered his tray, still adorned with green beans, his knuckles white as he clenched the sides. “I have to go.” He turned and fairly ran in the opposite direction.

technically, this scene didn't happen in the fic, but I think its one of those unwritten things. I felt so awful for Richie. Im sure he had to have cried his fair share becuase of Virgil
also, another reason I prolly cried like a baby: menstrual cycle mixed with THIS SONG: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-zFd6… . :cries:

ALSO: I added plant man. becuase...he made me laugh becuase he looked like a giant piece of broccoli.

This is absolutely beautiful.

Simple, and yet very effective in invoking such a strong and almost visceral sense of longing and loss. I really like the way you use light here. It's subtle, especially considering how generally dark the color palate is, and yet the light you do use highlights without taking over the canvas. It almost gives the picture a sense of promise, that there is light left in the world, and soon the darkness will fade away.

On a more technical note, I like the way you used the light to make those photos seem glossy. It's not something I've seen done very often. And the pictures in the photos are really cute and sweet. In fact, pretty much /all/ the details you have added into the room are fantastic. While not necessarily cannon "Richie's Room", I think that the environment you created around him is quite a bit more personal than the one portrayed on the show.

All in all, a really great painting. I love it.
